Trust our food

Trusting your food thanks to product and packaging innovations and a transparent supply chain

The production of our frozen vegetables, fruit, and ready meals start with one ambition: providing our consumers with healthy, tasty, affordable, and convenient daily meals year-round. To realise it, we have set the following objectives: Tasty & healthy innovation, Vertical integration, Packaging reduce.

Tasty and healthy innovation

When creating recipes, we consider many criteria to ensure that taste and health benefits go hand in hand. Next to calculating the Nutri-Score of our compositions—a way to assess how healthy they are—we develop plant-based meals and a dedicated range of healthy frozen ready meals for kids. Our goal is to create locally sourced frozen food with minimal processing.

Vertical integration

Traceable frozen food ingredients are not always a given. By owning our production facilities and working directly with local farmers, Crop's controls a significant part of the production and distribution process and can ensure traceability. Thanks to factories located within a short distance from the fields, the produce is frozen directly after harvest for maximum freshness. We implement risk assessment strategies across our sourcing regions to guarantee a reliable and sustainable supply chain (environmentally and socially) while maintaining the quality and safety of our products.

Packaging

We value what's inside the most, but we believe that packaging should meet the same high standards for quality and environmental responsibility as our food. We continuously explore the possibilities to reduce the impact of our packaging while keeping all quality and safety standards at the same level. Here, simplicity is key. These are some of the principles we apply:

  • Using mono-materials and avoiding any complex packaging that combines different plastics to enable easy recycling;
  • Reducing the thickness of foils and films;
  • Exploring more environmentally friendly materials for ready meal trays.
